Sugar Sand Festival on Clearwater Beach
Lisa & Steve Chandler and Angela Vomacka – Festival Principals, CBACA Concierges, Chamber of Commerce Representatives & Distinguished Hospitality Industry Professionals,
I wish to Thank-You all for attending our private Sneak Preview of the AWESOME Sugar Sand Festival this past Thursday morning 4/12 and a HUGE Thank-You to Lisa Chandler for affording us the opportunity & privilege to do so and guiding us around on tour – isn’t she AMAZING!! And God Bless her assistant Angela for helping to take some of the weight off of Lisa’s shoulders, the preparation and behind-the-scenes work for this festival is a huge undertaking and Lisa, I’m sure, will be busy planning next year’s event the week after this year’s concludes on Sunday 4/22.
WOW!! Weren’t those Sand Sculptures we saw just crazy!! I’ve been telling my guests they gotta go see them, how they almost look 4-Dimensional with the characters coming right at you out of the sand – how do they stay up without crumbling?? When I saw the surfer tucked in the curl of the wave on the piece as you first walk in it was like it defied gravity! This year’s theme is Sea America, a Celebration of America’s Treasures and boy I think they have everything covered.
After attending the Les Clefs d’Or Concierge Conference in Washington DC last September and visiting the Lincoln Memorial, I was thoroughly impressed by the Abe Lincoln sculpture and how true to form it really is – I must say it is my favorite. And after many years of me working in NYC it was like a trip down Memory Lane to see the city’s landmarks carved out of sand. It was also funny how Tanner from CMA kinda looked like the guy (Chevy Chase??) hanging out the window of the station wagon on vacation…. thumbs up Tanner! And maybe the ‘Hulkster’ will show up for a photo-op next to his profile??
OOOhhh so much to take in…. I could write for hours and undoubtedly I’ve missed a lot of points, but I wish to get this out to you all ASAP before the festival ends. PLEASE Visit the Sugar Sand Festival Website for ticketing, festival details, musician’s schedules and more.
